Welcome to Bath & North East Somerset Council's Online Admissions Service for children Starting School or Transferring to Junior or Secondary School in September 2014. The facility can also be used for children whose parents are seeking a place at a school/academy where their first intake group is Year 10.

You can use this website to make and view applications for your child. You will need to register first. This website should only be used by residents of Bath & North East Somerset. (If you live in another authority see notes below for further information)

Applications for school places can be made for:

Children starting Reception Year in 2014/15.

Children transferring to Junior School in 2014/15.

Children transferring to Secondary School in 2014/15.

Children seeking a Year 10 placement in 2014/15 for Schools or Academies where their first entry Year group is Year 10 rather than Year 7.

All applications MUST be made to the LA in which the child lives even if the preferred school is in another LA area. Residents of other Local Authorities (LAs) should therefore not use this site to make their application. They must contact their Home Authority for further information on how they can apply. The exception to this rule is where families are currently living abroad but who are seeking places in a Bath & North East Somerset School as they will be living within the authority's area by September 2014. Proof of address details in the UK will be required. Visas may be requested in appropriate cases where the child is a non-EAA resident.

Just like when applying by post, we ask that parents carefully read our information booklets before making their application.

'A Primary School for your Child in 2014/15' PDF document gives details about admissions to the Reception Year group and transfers to a Junior School whilst 'A Secondary School for your Child in 2014/15' PDF document gives information about the transfer process to secondary schools. These documents are downloadable from the Admissions page here (PDF viewer required).

If you have any queries about making your application please contact the Admissions & Transport Unit. Also contact us if you are wanting to make an application for a different year group to those listed above.

When applying for admission to school, parents / carers should apply to the local authority in which the child lives. To check for the appropriate local authority, please enter your child's postcode and click Check.
